Recipe: Verde De La Envidia

PREP IT

  • 2 oz. Carabuena Tequila

  • .75 oz. cucumber juice (from one cucumber, run through a juicer)

  • .5 oz. yellow chartreuse

  • .5 oz. hoja santa syrup

  • .5 oz. lime juice

  • Garnish: cucumber slices

MAKE IT: HOJA SANTA SYRUP

  • 128 grams hoja santa leaves

  • 128 grams (~1/2 cup) sugar

  • 128 grams (~1/2 cup) water

Heat water in a small saucepan on the stovetop. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add hoja santa and boil until it simply gains color from the leaves, roughly 10-12 minutes. Syrup should be a nice, rich color. Let sit and cool 20 minutes before straining leaf bits from syrup.

MAKE IT: VERDE DE LA ENVIDIA

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Fine strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with cucumber slices.
